Assemblywoman also received Environmental Advocates’ top score

Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo has received the endorsement of the New York League of Conservation Voters her campaign announced Friday. Each year, NYLCV makes endorsements to candidates that will be environmental champions in Albany.

“It’s an honor to receive this endorsement and know NYLCV has the confidence in me to advocate for environmental issues important to people in my district and all New Yorkers,” Lupardo said. “I was an environmentalist long before I ever considered serving in the Assembly. Climate change is a serious issue across the globe; I’m proud to do my part to protect and preserve it right here in New York.”

The announcement of Assemblywoman Lupardo’s endorsement comes after she received EPL/Environmental Advocates’ top score earlier this summer. Each year, the advocacy group releases a scorecard of state legislators based on how they voted on bills important to environmental preservation. Lupardo was one of just 24 out of 213 legislators to receive the highest score awarded this year. She is a member of the Assembly Committee on Environmental Conservation and has worked on numerous environmental issues including toxins in the workplace, indoor air quality, and lead in school drinking water, among others.
